Vmware compatibility ?

Hi,

I use Setup Factory 7.0.4.0 and I have a strange problem.

I made an installation using SF and I wanted to test the installation on different OS using VMware.

I should notify that the installation program runs correctly on my Windows XP Pro Sp1 computer but it crashes on Vmware with theses OS (95, Me, 98, 2003 server) :huh

The crash consists on No windows displaying. I don't know if the program runs but no window is displayed. No error messages...

What is very curious is that in one case, the installation program runs correctly (with VmWare and Windows XP Pro SP2). :yes


To finish I tested my program on a real Windows 2000 Pro at home (without using vmware) and it runs good. :yes

Has anyone an idea (and a solution if possible) why my installation program does not run on vmware (95, Me, 98, 2003 server) and runs good with vmware windows xp pro SP2 and on my machine and on a Windows 2000 machine ?

It could be that your VM ware is not functioning properly. We run Microsoft Virtual PC here and Setup Factory 7.0 installs run fine.

I'd rebuild your VMware machine...I use it extensively and never had any trouble.

I'm using VMWare Workstation 5.5 I believe (The latest version).
