I think that it is designed for synthesists with too much time and too much money.:) I’d just buy something like REAKTOR 5 (http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=reaktor5_us), from Native Instruments, and call it good.:yes

Seriously, I would imagine that it might appeal to some of the old school synthesizer players who like tweaking ADSR curves, LWO’s, and designing envelopes on analog, PCM, and FM style synthesizers.

I’ve never been any good at building sounds from the ground up like that, and have always had to settle for using the instrument pre-sets, and tweaking from there.

Too much math and artistry for my brain to comprehend. Anyway, the thing has patch cords, patch cords! you can’t get much more retro than that. I’m sticking with the idea that it is designed for old school synthesizer players with too much time, and too much money. Well that, or fabulously wealthy rap bands.:lol

ADSR: Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release
LWO: Low Wave Oscillator??
PCM: Pulse Code Modulation
FM: Frequency Modulation

You're 100% on the money. :yes

FWIW the commercial market for all those huge analog machines is exclusively high end recording studios because they want to have as much impressive looking (read rare and obviously expensive) gear on hand as possible for wooing young bands with hot little fists full of freshly loaned record company money. No keyboard players buy that stuff, except for the occasional German club/electronica types. But even then, they tend to borrow or rent rather than buy. :yes
