Yeah according to Patrick Norton of DLTV (http://www.digitallifetv.com), the rumor is that Vista may not be out until 2007. MS isn't ruling it out, although they hope for Q3 2006. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 2007 release. I just wish they had rewritten the problem parts of the system, looks like they're just taking forward flawed code from XP and that's a tad depressing.

personally, 2007 would suggest a betta RTM rather than a pretty
darn good release candidate. (Which is what XP rtm turned out to be)

bringing forward Retail releases for the sake of 'goal setting' deadlines,
can be a mistake in my humble opinion. But hey..in a perfect world...

Gotta hit the streets sometime, to make a dollar or two

a local guy here who was one of the team who developed the Linux kernal,
is in touch with MS programmers-- unoffical quote from a fellow programmer
to another and passed on to me couple weeks ago: "we would prefer around mid 2007,
but we don't pay the enormous development budget, now do we..."

I agree, all things being equal I'd prefer to wait a little longer and get a better product. My fear is that we will have to wait and then will be served more inferior product. No sense in living in fear though, so for now, I MAMBO!!!! [bee boop deep do-doo bee deep deep...] :yes

There's *nothing* in this universe ice cream can't solve.
