hi everyone
I'm making an interactive cd from some clients that I have.
The problem: some clients does not have access to internet.
So, if the client "X" do not have access to internet and for any reason he does not installed the flash plugin, the aplication will not work properly.
Is there any way to make the flash plugin installation offline?
By Example: run app->DETECT FLASH... if it's not installed, install it from cd, else, continue the app.
thanks

I know that macromedia offers a flash player to put it on the cd...
the question is how can I make to my app detect if the user have installed flash and if he doesn't, the flash installation start automatically

This will check for Flash 7 automatically and if the version is less, will install the ActiveX silently/auto.
Merry Christmas!
Flash Auto Installer (http://rphmedia.net/iFlash.apz)
Remember to run over to [Macromedia] and get the license for distribution; it's free.

rhosk,
Do you have, or can you tell me how to adapt your Flash Auto Installer for Flash Player 8???
Thanks in advance!

Without reviewing the code, just change the version to 8.0.0.0 and get the Flash 8 ActiveX installer from their website.

Here's how I would do it personally.
1. Create a Flash movie in Flash. It is blank, except for a frame which contains the FScommand: check="true"
2. Place it on page one of any AMS project, add a simple script which checks the FScommand value. If it's "true" then hop to your Flash, and if not, launch the installer.
This is 100% reliable AFAIK and it's simple, plus you can easily target any version of Flash by simply publishing your FScommand movie to the target version. Ron's method is great also, the reason I do it this way instead is because it doesn't just check to see if Flash is installed, it checks to see if Flash is running properly. It's a subtle difference but I like the added security. :yes

Way to think 'outside the box', I like it :yes

Like all great tech ideas it was 100% born of laziness. :yes
Spats ain't free, so in the olden days I used to churn out Flash sites like a bunch of little Rory Calhouns, and scripting/testing reliable dependencies was cramping the amount of spare time I had available for foxtrot lessons, so I simply added a page jump, and voila-2-3-4 and step-2-3-4. Took me 5 minutes and it never failed me once, and I've got the ultra-slick bigcity foxtrotting skills to prove it. [clik clop] "Little Oily Feet" they called me on the competition circuit until my championship bid was cut short in a tragic canasta pileup which left me with only 3 toes on each foot, like a Slow Loris. Ahhhh, but t'was all in good fun! :yes
And to this very day that's how all our online Flash is configured. Like a bunch of little Rory Calhouns, standing there. :yes
