This is just a week of birthdays isn't it? Maybe next year we should plan an IR hosted B-Day celebration. :)

Sure, make it in Cowtown and I'll provide a rock band, skateboards, and all the veggies burgers you can eat. At the risk of misquoting Busta Rhymes let me just add, "woohah woohah!!!"

October babies unite!

Thanks, all. I just had a terrific birthday - one of the best in years, actually. :)

The evening wrapped up with myself and my beautiful wife enjoying the kickoff date of Ben Folds' new American tour. I was proud to see I wasn't the oldest person there - but not too terribly far from it! ;)

I just got into his music lately, but I have quickly beome a big fan. One of the best live shows I've ever seen, actually. No exaggeration - the man can play and perform. And the band is very good backing him up. I was pretty amazed to see how well known his tracks were with the crowd - there were a lot of real fans in the audience.

Anyway - if he's coming to a theater near you, make sure to catch the show:

Or...

Ben will perform on Austin City Limits Saturday October 29 on PBS

Or as the other Eric (Cartman, South Park) would say, "Coo'"

:D

True. He's got decent production skills as well. :yes

Austin City Limits is the proving ground, once he's done that (if he does well) no one will ever question his ability to play. Some of my all time favorite performances are from Austin City Limits. A few doozies pop to mind, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Johnson (twice), Bruce Hornsby (talk about a guy who can play), and Bela Fleck... Yep, great show. :)

Glad to hear you had a happy. Nothing like having a happy. :yes

Ben is pretty high energy. I think most people get him immediately. Unfortunately, I'm sure a few of his more colorful songs won't make the cut for the fine folks at PBS. I've worked with some of those folks before. Ben has been known to work a little blue. :)
