I get this when I attempt to go to a specific page. The page also has an AVI on it…??
Any Ideas?

Hi Bruce,
Do you have any "special" actions on the page that you are jumping from or jumping to? Anything that would differentiate the pages that cause the error from pages that do not cause the error?
Try starting a blank project and jumping to a page with an AVI on it, does that work? If it does not, try recreating what you have done until the error occurs. This will help us to zero in on the problem.
mark.

Here it is again... (See attachement). I get this when I attempt to open an AMS project. Re-installed AMS 4 and every project that I had previously done before the re-install now comes up with this error. [scratching head].
Thanks

Hi,
What version of AutoPlay are you using? I suggest that you make sure you are using 4.0.0.2.
Have you modified the AM4 files using an external editor?
What happens if you create new projects and try to open them, does AutoPlay still crash.

I'm using 4.0.0.2. It will not happen when I start a new project, only past projects . I tried to uninstall and reinstall but it still did it. The weird thing is it doesn't happen all the time.
B.T.W I did not modify the AM4 files using an external editor.
Thx

Hi,
Are these projects converted from 3.0 to 4.0? Please send the project file to mark@indigorose.com.
I am having the same problems (access violation error) followed with a termination of the program.
I also use XP proffesional for building the project.
The error does not happen when I play the builded project in XP. But it occurs when it is used with Win ME and Win98(SE).
The error appears while playing a MPEG1 with the mediaplayer.
It is a project converted from version 3 to version 4.
The problem exists already in version 4000. It seems to be disappeared in version 4001 and reappaers in version 4002.
So I tried to uninstall the APMS 4002 and reinstalled 4000 and 4001. But now the error is still comming back.
I'm rather desparate......

Hi ovm,
So what happens when you start your runtime on Windows 98/ME? You put the CD-ROM in the drive, the AutoPlay Application starts, then your video begins playing, and you get the crash?
Please explain how the crash happens.
On the page with the mediaplayer, sometimes at a not predictible moment the error occurs.
Not always, even playing the same video (there are several MPG1 video's on this page to choose from).
One time within 2 seconds, the other time after 2 minutes.
Is it possible the (small) AVI on the main menu has something to do with it?

We are also getting the Access Violation (read) error when we close the menu. Consistently, across 98 and 2K platforms. We do have an mpeg1 file in the project, although we get the error whether or not the video is playing when we close.
We are at AMS 4.0.0.2
Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter,
If you can consistently generate this error you described, I would definitlely like to take a look at what you have in your project, or at least a subset if possible. You can send a ZIP Archive to support@indigorose.com and I'll look into it further. Please include detailed instructions for me to follow in order to replicate it on my end.
I think I found the solution. Install the latest upgrade of Windows media Player. (version 7.11). The error won't come back anymore (so far).
Hint: Include the WMP 7.11 on the CD.
When the error occurs, the user can install the newest version.
