Hi,

I haven't been on for ages as (I'm sorry to say !) I gave up on autoplay men studio 3.0 cause it couldn't do what I needed.....(what a traitor I am)....However I've just seen version 4.0 and it looks great...heres the question...Will V4.0 do what V3.0 couldn't ??

I run a quiz company (remember me jito463 ???) and I am producing a CD that contains a years supply of pub quizzes on it, what I need simply is one button that the user clicks on and this will then go of into the bowels of the CDR, check what set they used last week and then pull out next weeks questions and print them and voila job is done.....Then the following week they click on the "print my quiz" button and off AMS goes and checks again on which questions they had last week and prints that weeks questions...

You get the idea I'm sure...

So guys and gals, what do you think

Many thanks in advance

Sorry, just one thing I forgot to mention....

The computers this proggy will be used on are often brewery PC's on a WAN and have lots of functionality removed and lots of protection and I'm not sure if the ability to read the registry has been removed......I'm sure that will add a new complexity to the issue

Anyway, thanks in advance again....

Well it's easy to do by reading and writing to the registry on a normal computer, I'm pretty sure even in AMS 3.0 you could do that...

But the bottom line is that you need to be able to keep track of things which means you need to be able to read and write to something, whether that be a text file, a registry, a remote database, a script on your web site...

Unless you use a DATETIME based system, simply create a list which references your questions sets by date and then sit back and watch the dough roll in.

Hey, thanks very much for the speady reply....

However you are dealing with a complete and utter fool here !

Without wishing you to do the whole thing for me could you please give me a bit more detail on how your idea should be implimented...

TIA

You would want to start by looking up Global Lists in your help files, read that section... The help files are excellent and very easy to understand. Help yourself to the help file update by clicking here (http://www.indigorose.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB2&Number=12073&page=0&v iew=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&fpart=) if you don't already have it.
