View Full Version : Preview Gallery Buttons
Hi
I'm new to AutoPlay 6.0, though using SetUp Factory 7.0 for a while. The media content pack has installed a huge number of buttons to the Gallery. Unfortunately, each and every one simply is identifed by a number, so it's a guess which to select each time.
Is there a way to show thumbnails in the gallery pane to preview buttons? Or another viable solution.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Kind Regards,

You can simply click on the first filename and use your cursor Up/Down/Left/Right keys quickly browse and preview.

Thanks, Ted. That worked fine! AutoPlay 6.0 and SetUp Factory 7.0 are fantastic programs!
New to AutoPlay 6.0, I suspect I'll have a few more basic questions like this one, until I get up to speed.
For example, I'm searching the help files for a way to script an action that would give the viewer the ability in runtime to clone an object like a circle or square. Is this action (viewer clicking on an object and cloning it) and scripting possible in AutoPlay 6.0?
Thanks for your help.

Hi, yes you can create objects at runtime in version 6.0 of AutoPlay Media Studio with the Page.CreateObject action. :) Here's a few examples:

Thanks, Corey.
It looks like scripting can handle a viewer initiated action to clone an image in runtime.
One last action that would then be useful: can the viewer drag and drop the newly cloned image within a text (paragraph) box? I'm thinking of a project in which the viewer could clone and move circles and squares as symbols for a basic family tree diagram of their family. Is this "drag and drop" action possible via scripting?
Again, I apprecriate your assistance.

Hi. Yes, they can drag it, but not "within a text box". However there's a couple ways you could achieve the same functionality. The easiest would probably be using buttons for your shapes instead of images, that way they have a caption property which can be set at runtime. You can use the same images, just package them as buttons. Another, much tricker way, would be to attach a label object to your image and try to set them to "drag together". I think the button idea would probably be easiest and most effective. Basically you could have circles, rectangles, etc. and your user would be able to set the text which appears atop them via one central input field. :yes
Sounds like a cool project, if you have any more questions or run into any troubles as you go along just post to the forum and we'll be happy to help. :)

Thanks for your reply. Where could I find the right script actions to drag and drop a button object after it's cloned? Once I can find these script items, I can experiment with this.

Here's an excellent example of drag and drop by the great Desmond:
