Searching the registry.

I have been trolling the bbs for how to search for .pdf support and have decided I would look in the registry. Here is what I have placed on a button to test the search function. I am looking for the sub key .pdf in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. the variable created when this happens is placed in a message dialog. I am expecting TRUE to be the answer I get back based on the fact that I have acrobat 5 full installed on this machine. But FALSE is returned instead. Am I searching in the correct place?
