There are tons of other threads about this in the forums - do a search and find some of them. In the meanwhile, I think you basically have two options:
1) play the .mp3 with the Media Player plugin object (only available for AMS 5.0 Professional, but free from Indigo Rose)
2) convert the .mp3 to .ogg format using any one of a number of widely available tools (check on Google)

Hi. You can grab the Media Player plug-in for free at http://www.autoplay.org/object/media_player.php :)

I created a all in one and i want to add mp3 audio in the background!
I think the mp3 plugin was installed but I don't see it in the program plugin menu.

Hi. Once the media player plug-in is installed simply go to INSERT > PLUGIN OBJECTS > Media Player to add an instance to your project. Bear in mind this is different from "background audio" however it can be applied in essentially the same way, functionally speaking. In terms of native background audio support, MP3 format is not an option due to the patent licensing hassles brought on by Thomson Multimedia, lots on Google about that. :yes
I recommend using .ogg for native audio functions in AMS. It is superior to MP3 in terms of "sonic quality per byte" according to some informal listening tests I've done here, and it's free. Lots of free tools for converting to .ogg on Google. Also there are either "free .ogg plugins available" or "native .ogg support" for practically every audio editor on the market such as Cubase, Audition, Sound Forge, etc... :)

Well, you need to make sure it's 5.0.3.0 Professional, not Standard. The plugin is called the Media Player Plug-In: http://www.autoplay.org/object/media_player.php

Yeehoo! :yes :)

The way I play the MP3's is to rename the extension of the MP3 file into .wav and load is as a wav file. It is not a charming solution but is works as long as your system is able to play MP3 it will work fine.
Al least it does for me and all others who use my software.
