I want to automate to installation and updating of Adaware on my customer's machines. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction or just plain tell me its not possible.

It could be possible, depending on the number of command-line parameters the adaware sofware supports. I did a google search that showed promise, but didn't find anything meaningful on the lavasoft site. It appeared that it was more of a pro version 'feature' in the google results...but could find nothing on it at the company site.

So long as the adaware installer supports silent installs via a config file of some sort and the adaware executable supports command-line updating, then yes, it should be easy to automate the install and updates. Figuring out how to format the command-line parameters would then become the challenge. I assume it has been done before if it is at all possible, so maybe a few more thorough google searches are in order? My lunch break is almost over. ;)

Checking the on-line manual for the free version the "Startup Action", "Startup Scan mode" and "Startup Settings" are all disabled in this version.

So it sounds like bnkrazy is correct in that you need the commercial version for it to work.
