I found this article (t3.co.uk) just now! Is 4GB on the way for the iPod Shuffle? I may have to buy this, as I just checked one out down in Pittsburgh about 3 hours ago and boy is that light weight (as those that own one already know)!
4GB and less than $130 and I'll buy!
2GB and 4GB iPod shuffles incoming!
Word has it that Apple is set to beef up the storage of its skinny songsmith by the summer.
Reports are surfacing that 2GB and 4GB versions of iPod shuffle could hit shelves sometime between June and August 2005. The only versions available at the moment are 512MB and 1GB models.
Sources for IT news website DigiTimes have allegedly revealed that Samsung and Toshiba, who currently provide NAND flash memory chips for iPod shuffle, are set to heavily increase the output of their latest high-capacity chips (up to 8GB), with Apple’s teensiest MP3 player reaping the benefits of this big push. Apple was unavailable for comment, however we’ll be digging deeper on this new development over the coming weeks, so stay tuned for all the latest on the next batch of souped-up shuffles.
