These images supposedly test how you handle stress. They were forwarded to me as junk mail (hate junk mail), but thought that it was pretty interesting.

The theory is, the slower the pictures move, the better your ability of handling stress. They move pretty slow for me - wondering if you guys see anything different.

They're not animated gifs.

Wait a minute! None of them are moving! Optical illusion!

Woot!

Shoulda mentioned that you need to click on the images.

I did Ron, it sure looks like an optical illusion to me. Fixate your eyes on anyone object from any of the images. See, no movement.

If you do see any movement I believe it is because the human eye continually moves in a "darty" fashion. As our eyes do not move smoothly but in steps, or increments... I believe when/if we see movement it is because our eyes have moved (twitched, if you are trying to keep them still).

:D

I knew it was an optical illusion, just wondering if some see the movement being faster. Thanks for the scientific explanation though ;)

Ah, well, I did notice something else... if I stare at it long enough I get nauseated. :wow

Ron, don't take the illusions from average-John.

The second one is moving, the first one a little. That tells, I don't manage all kind of stress in the same manner. And that is the truth. Period, as Corey says.

Thanks for playing.

Well, if I were going to take a stab at explaining it, I'd say that it is due to the "lens" in your eye changing shape as your eye moves... this may be because of preasure on your cornea that causes it to deform slightly until your eye is at rest, or it may even be the liquid on the surface of your eye "building up" unevenly as your your eye moves. (as your eyes move upward liquid would build up in front of your eyelid as your eye passes under it, but [most of] the liquid does not.) Of course that's all just crazy speculation on my part.

The images basically test how steady you keep your eyes. Breathe slowly and smoothly (creating a stable eye platform), and the images won't appear to move (or move much, anyway).

Ah, so this is really...

How much caffeine you have consumed in the last 30 minutes sort of test?

:D

Lorne's right, it's easy to keep them perfectly still if you're sitting still and just focus on a single pixel. Still, pretty dang cool phenomenon anyhow, cool images rhosk. :yes

Now I want a T-Shirt which does that. I'd use it to hypnotize chickens, for a living. :yes

Sounds like my comment before his:
