I need some help advise on 3d text

I need to rotate some 3d text in autoplay, I can create the text in Xara3d but it exports as a gif file and I do't believe autoplay supports a gif file. What I see is autoplay supports flash or swf files. I'm looking for a recommendation on some good software that creates swf files that will support animation in 3d.

    Thanks any help is appreciated.

You can also use a Web Object to display your .gif via a HTML page.

Hi. Autoplay Media Studio offers full support for static .gif such as those generated by Xara, simply update to the latest version and you'll be good to go. Hope that helps.

XARA supports png files. In my opinion, this is the best format to use, as you get full colors plus transparancy (with alpha channel, unlike gif).
I've done it and it works!.
        Good luck

I recommended the Web Object and an HTML page... because of the commeht about animation towards the end of his post.

You don't actually need a html page to display animated gifs in a web object, you can just point it at the gif file directly.

Just thought I would pass that on because it makes it very easy to display animated gifs.

Yossi is right if quality is the goal, PNG will probably give you the best quality per byte of all Xara's output formats. :yes

                That's a good tip!

Though, try this... I loaded a 80x60 animated .gif into the Web Object (pointed it straight to it), but now I have ugly scrollbars to deal with, ack! So it seems that one may want to stick with a Webpage where you can keep the "white space" around the image to the least amount possible and adjust the <body> tag(s) so that scrollbars are not included.

                Dermot, or?

To eliminate scroll bars from a web object containing an HTML page just add scroll="no" to your body tag, i.e.

                  <body scroll="no">

Right, but I see Dermot had a good tip of just pointing the Web Object straight to the .gif file and not an HTML page that contains the .gif. Thus one can not set the margins to zero, nor can the scrollbars be delt with (removed as you code shows).

But, I like the tip! As long as you have room to stretch out the Web Object, then :yes

And, of course, the SetMAsk Plugin (Hey Worm! how r u, Man?) would solve the scrollbar problem quite easily...

Here is an example of an animated gif in a web object. There is no visible frame around the web object, thanks to Worm’s SetMask DLL.

I can’t recommend the SetMask DLL enough. Check it out:
