    Video coping

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to prevent end users from coping video files from a CD Rom under APMS 5.0, if so can you tell me how to do it.
    Thanks

well, you could put them in protected zip archive and extract them on demand... but it would make your app slow on strating playback...

Thanks Bule, but I don't want it to run slow. Any other ideas?

heh, use some obscure forgotten codec for your movies, which is installed when your app is ran, and uninstalled when your app terminates...

That sound good, but how do I get the codec to install and uninstall as the CD boots.
          thanks

Another option is to build as a compressed executable and in the next window choose to encrypt the data segment.

Even better - build in a harddrive forlder and in the next window choose to rename resource files. This eliminates the slow run.

That sounds great, but could you give me a step by step account of how to carry out what what you mean, sorry for sounding a bit thick.
                Thanks for your help

No problem. When you build your project (F7) choose Hard Drive Folder.

Go to the Next window, and choose to Rename Resource Files.

After the build, choose to go open the output folder.

You will notice a folder under AutoPlay named dat01; your video(s) will be there in a .dat format.

If someone is determined to snag the video, they will eventually get it but you could choose to make this a hidden folder for your burn to slow them down as they could simply rename all the .dat files to .avi, or .mpg or whatever till they get it right.
