Alright so this program is or is not compatible with MACs?

I figure at this point publishable files are not compatible with macintosh's although I cannot tell. Are there plugs ins for macintosh support?

I am trying desperately to make a compatible portfolio with an auto start for pcs and macs.. the pc version looks amazing due to this software.. but mac users cant use this autorun cd rom stuff because of their fears over viruses or what have you. So where does that leave me, i heard of this autostart thing for macs but that doesnt seem to lead me anywhere but nowhere and directormx although creates files that are mac compatible they dont load up on start and worse yet I cant figure out how to get the linkages to work because you cant link a html file on a cd rom and load it up in that program unless your some bloody hacker lol.... Iam going to give up and just have a pc start up at this point and put the links in there. It's frusterating but what can you do?

Hey Iggyboo... unfortunately, the answer leaves you pretty much where you are. It's no one's fault but Apple's that you can't autostart anything on a Mac. It used to be that OS 9 computers would do it, but there's no way to make OS X do it for anything other than DVDs with a VIDEO_TS folder.

Of course, that's not to say IR will never make a Mac compatible version of AMS... We can always hope! :) I'm not counting on it, though, and i recommend you don't either.

Proponents of cross-platform output from AMS have more recently suggested Flash based output for the program. That would have benefits beyond Macintosh compatibility - a few birds with a stone as it were. I'm sure the technological aspects of doing that are not simple, however. We can only wait and see. For now, you'll need to find another authoring tool to handle the Mac side of your project.

I work primarily with G5s in the studio but also use PCs and don't really have the time and patience to learn different software on different platforms. I tried both Ezedia and AMS but felt the latter offered more control and depth. EzediaMX wasn't a bad program though and it runs nicely on OSX, as does EzediaQTi which you might also want to check out.
