Help with password

I need some help with password protecting a page. The documentation doesn't cover this. Can someone help?

I want to have a page password protected. When I click on a link to a page I want a box to come up where the user has to enter a password before they can proceed to a certain page. I would also like to set it where the user gets 3 trys, and after the third bad attempt, it closes the menu program.

Here is a little example I whipped up. This will only work if you have one Password for that page.

NOTE: that there are many ways to script this
