Hi,
Have you been able to recreate the problem repeatedly? What are the exact steps that you use in order to recreate the problem?
mark.

Well it happens every once and a while.
It can be as simple as clicking a "Browse" (for files) button to insert an image, etc. Yeah, come to think of it, seems like it's usually after hitting a Browse button, that it may crash. Any one of them basically.
PS - the sideburns look sweet Mark /ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif
Hi zeroseven,
So it occurs right after you hit the browse button or after you select the file and hit Ok?
P.S. I've since removed the sideburns from my face.

It has happened twice since I had the program:
First time was at the preview build, I hit cancel and BLAM , no errors just shutdown of AMS4 refreshing of desktop. Second time, I actually went to preferences tab. When I cliked to go to the next menu tab the PC went berzerk and "error on explorer.exe has ocurred" blam. I have reinstalled 3 times.

Hi,
Perhaps I misunderstood, when does the crash occur? When you hit the Browse button? Or when you have selected the file?
postscriptum - I've been contemplating that but I'm not sure.
mark.

Happens to me too. I wanted to add an AVI, clicked browse, chose my file, hit ok then BLADOW. NOTHING. It hangs and I cant even get to my task manager to force quit.
It may be trying to copy that file to your Resources directory. In that case the design environment will not respond for a time while the file is being moved over. If you would like you could use the "External Reference" option and manage the video file yourself.

We have been tracking this one down for a few days. It is very sporratic and only occurs for a small handful of users. In the short term, try setting your Undo/Redo level to 0 in Preferences. This seems to stabilize the problem on our test systems where we have been able to replicate the problem. Rest assured that we are in pursuit of a permanent solution.
