We recently made a half-hearted attempt to sell my wife's car using whatever free advertising I could find. It's amazing the number of people from all over the world who want to buy it without ever seeing it - all I have to do is send all my personal details and they'll pay more or less whatever I want :wow .

I'm not yet fully conversant but I'm getting the knack of reading email headers now - strange how many people say they're in one part of the world when in fact they're in another :) .

It's about time some of the 'big names' in computing made a serious effort to stem the tide - I for one would be very happy if everything sent to me disappeared into a black hole if it didn't originate from a pucker IP.
