Still a tad green behind the ears but definitely an extremely promising technology. You could sure make an awesome billiards video game for example by combining live footage of a billiard hall with virtual cues/balls, etc. :yes

How about your own band members!
Or five (5) Coreys jamming it out!
Now, that would put their product through its paces.
This sort of technology will be gobbled up by various military I bet (note the military chopper they used, on purpose I'm sure)!
Then, gaming via this mode!
Oh ya! Sign me up as a Totalimmersion Test Pilot, Combatant, etc.. etc..
:D

I'm %1000 anti-combat on every level. It breaks my heart to know that military applications will drive this technology, easily the most depressing thing I've seen in weeks.

I wish I could see the video, but it keeps stalling out on me. I've got to the flower appearing in the guy's hand. That was pretty impressive, assuming it is happening in realtime...
I suppose any technology has both good and evil applications of it. The optimist in me says that good guys always win.

Well, the Combatant... as far as sign me up for combatant-tester in the copper anyway. The Army told me I was to tall when I was younger to fly choppers. Well, now I have my chance! ;-)

Ted, right-click inside the video window and then choose options. Adjust the settings there... the buffering and what not.
Helped? I hope, because there are some really neat things that happen. Like the chopper out over the audience!

Here's a weird non-related story. When I was a kid I used to hang around with this guy Val Pappes occasionally, they lived right at the top of a gigantic hill overlooking downtown Edmonton right at the base of an olympic style ski ramp tower. For some reason, their neighbor had a large orange helicopter which he used to take off and land from his backyard, i.e. right off the side of this hill.
Now bear in mind this is in a normal city, right beside the downtown core in a 100% residential neighborhood. A nice neighborhood in fact with snazzy houses. And yet somehow no one bugged him about it. There wasn't even a fence around the yard as I remember. I can recall many times we'd just walk over and check the thing out. I remember looking inside it a couple times, totally barebones scary, i.e. birds making nests in there, seats not bolted in right, etc.
It was a rickety looking thing too. A bright orange sucker with doors which looked as though they didn't close all that well. He even used to take various people up with him sometimes. The yard was fairly small too, se he was parking it within 10-15 feet of the house. Seems to me the dude was a bit eccentric but basically OK.
True story. I've thought about that helicopter a few times over the years. It's hard to believe how times have changed in a mere couple decades. The freedoms we had then are just unfathomable in any current context.
