Dependency Module: Internet Explorer 6
Last Revision: 2/17/2005

Overview
Use the Internet Explorer 6 Dependency Module to detect and if necessary install IE6 on a target system.

The Microsoft .NET Framework requires at least IE 5.01 to run, and recommends IE 6. This module can be run before the .NET dependency module to ensure .NET's requirements are met. The .NET Framework also requires MDAC 2.6 or greater.

Note: Allow the IE6 setup to reboot after installation or .NET dependency module will not detect it.

Installation Instructions
In order for IE 6 to be available and function correctly, Setup Factory expects the following:

Close Setup Factory 7.0, if it is running.
Browse to the folder where Setup Factory 7.0 is installed on your system. By default it is C:\Program Files\Setup Factory 7.0.
Open the folder called Dependencies.
Unzip the contents of ie6.zip (see bottom of article) into the dependencies folder.
Create a subfolder of Dependencies and name it ie6.
Download the IE6 installation file (ie6setup.exe) into the ie6 subfolder. (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&DisplayLang=en)
Restart Setup Factory 7.0.

To use your new dependency module, select Resources > Dependencies from the main menu and click the Add button. Internet Explorer 6 should now be visible in the list of available modules.
