Ah, screencaps from WMP visualizations. Cool...

        Re: awed backgrounds

They're either screencaps from some sort of audio visualizer, or were generated by a plug-in which uses the same library of visualizations as the WMP visualizer, I'm betting the former... Still cool...

            Re: awed backgrounds

Winamp, good choice. I use it daily. I love those visualizations although I never play with them anymore it seems.

But hey this is a good chance for me to turn you onto the most unbelievably incredible winamp skin I have ever seen, I use it full time now. It's like an app to itself. And I've done several winamp skins so I know how hard this one must have been, I think the guy's a programmer or something. Anyhow it's here http://winamp.com/skins/detail.jhtml?componentId=122902 and I guarantee that you will be amazed by it, it has sooooo many extra features and customizations, it's insane. Killer looking too...

I can't say enough about how shocked I was at the quality of this skin because I've seen some killer skins in my day but this one just puts them all to shame so badly...

Anyhow that's a cool idea about screencapping the visualizations, I've used vidcaps of that before as backgrounds in video stuff, very handy, but never stills. Great idea.

              That is a cool skin.

I still use Winamp 2.something.or.other because it has a skin that I like.
